Smart Bird Control Strategy: Visual + Consequence
Seagulls are smart and adaptable. Like most visual bird deterrents, an effigy may become less effective if birds see it in the same place for an extended period and learn that it doesn’t create actual danger for them.
For better results, periodically change the position or location of the Seagull Effigy and use it as part of a broader bird-control strategy.
A Seagull Effigy may work successfully as a stand-alone deterrent. However, if you need to add more pressure, we recommend combining the effigy with Flock Free Bird Repellent, Surface Pro Tack and UV-paint, and/or installing seagull wiring.
The goal is to create an unpleasant environment for birds and teach them to stay away with visual confirmation.
Using several different deterrent methods and visual signals together makes your area unattractive to intelligent birds, and they gradually start preferring to stay away and go somewhere else. Not in my yard, birdies!
