A warehouse gives birds a roof, a lattice of steel to perch on and, most of the time, a door standing open. Once sparrows, starlings or pigeons are established in the roof, the cost is not the birds — it is the droppings landing on racking, packaging and product below, and the questions that follow at an audit.

Warehouse work splits into three jobs, and most sites need all three: stop birds getting in, take away the places they land once inside, and make the building itself less comfortable to stay in. Below are the Flock Free products for each.

Stopping Birds Getting In

The opening is where the problem starts. Dock doors, man doors and roof openings are the routes in, and closing them is the only method that prevents entry rather than discouraging it.

Flock Free O3 Invisible Netting ozone unit

Netting is installed on a perimeter of tensioned cable and anchors. Flock Free stocks the brackets, cable, clips, rings, turnbuckles and zip access panels an installation needs — see the full netting range. For sizing a roof or an opening, call the office on 732-987-5400.

Taking Away the Landing Surfaces

Once birds are inside they use the same places every time: purlins, roof trusses, beam flanges, the tops of light fittings. Spikes remove the flat surface without trapping anything.

Stainless Steel Bird Spikes 100 ft

Stainless Steel Bird Spikes – 100 ft

$325.00

7.5 inch coverage width, 100 ft boxes of 2 ft sections. Adhesive or screw fixing; the flexible base follows curved surfaces. Flock Free lists beams and rafters among the intended surfaces.

Where To Start

If birds are coming and going, start at the opening — strip curtains on the doors in daily use, an ozone unit above the main entrance, netting across a roof opening. If they are already roosting in the steel, start with spikes on the surfaces they use and add scent products in the more enclosed parts of the building. Hazers are for sites where the roof space is simply out of reach.
